I just clicked over here from D*S to see if you had more pics, and you do!! Yay!! I love that you use your brass noodle vendors for kid’s toys! How smart, because then you don’t have to polish them all the time!
Truly, it’s such a lovely house!

Yay! Thank you Dana. I am so glad you did. I love that you knew what what they were. Most people have seen the noodle vendors and have not gotten it!

What the WHAT?! You have some mad skillz, woman. I was on D*S, followed the link to your blog and proceeded to read the entire thing without a breath in between. My eyes are crossed now, but my head is an explosion of renewed inspiration. Thank you! Much needed too as my husband and I just moved to Encinitas and bought a little house that was built in 1949 and belonged to some town sheriff who won it in a poker game or something like that! Anyhow, I’ve been battling with my contractor because he doesn’t get my so-called very unconventional taste and each conversation ends up bumming me out! I won’t get into all that, but I just wanted to let you know you’re soooo on track with your new venture. Your talent is beyond awesome and painstakingly perfect in the most effortless way. Tis rare!! And it needs to be shared!! Everyone needs a dose of SMID, STAT! I hope you’ll post more on your blog because I’ve bookmarked it. Cheers, Su

Su! You crack me up. Thank you for reading the whole thing!!! Yes, I will post more. I am going to try and get back to at least a weekly post. I have an instagram account too (@smidthat). I fought it for a while and then finally gave in. Now I am addicted! You are in Encinitas??? That is great. We should meet up sometime and tell contractor war stories or just grab a coffee at the Pannikin. I do have a guy who is amazing and get’s me (which is hard ;))…if you need anyone. He always figures out how to make my craziest idea work. Email me at betsy@smidthat when you can.
